Those who have never worn gradient compression before may feel that these garments are difficult to put on or tighter than traditional hosiery. It is this "snug" fit that provides the graduated pressure. It is very important to measure the ankle, calf, and sometimes thigh to ensure a proper fit and to receive the benefits of the graduated compression.If pain, discomfort, or areas of binding occur, the stockings should be removed immediately.
