With over a decade of experience designing these carriers and winning more Ironman Distance World Championships than all their competitors combined, XLAB has launched the first of the next generation of Alloy Xlab Hydration Carriers. This new 'wing' will be on winning race rockets for the next several years. Rear carriers should not interfere with the air on the rider's back, but instead fill in the turbulence 'hole' behind the riders posterior, thereby reducing the rider's drag (which accounts for 64% of energy used on a racing bicycle). We positioned the carrier in the Wind Tunnel to 'draft' behind the rider causing no extra drag.
- Modular Storage System - The ultimate on the bike repair and hydrations storage solution. Completely modular, the Super Wing can be configured to meet whatever your training or racing demands. Designed to carry anywhere from 1 to 3 water bottles, 1 storage bag inside the carrier, and 1 bag underneath the carrier. Fits SMP Extra, SMP Evolution, and SMP T series saddles.
- Improved Aerodynamics - The Super Wing SMP is mounted in the low-pressure area directly behind the rider and creates virtually no drag from the system itself and decreases the rider’s overall drag. Wind tunnel and CFD tested.
- Adjustable Mounting - One of XLAB’s most adjustable systems. With 3 chassis mounting positions, 4 bottle cage rotational positions, and 10mm of bottle vertical adjustment, removing and inserting the bottle is a breeze.
- Superior Strength - The Super Wing SMP is XLAB’s most durable and strongest rear hydration system available. High strength 6061-T6 aircraft aluminum for best-in-class strength to weight ratio. An added aluminum cross brace increases torsional rigidity and resist system “wracking” and helps prevent bottle ejection.
- Includes - High strength aerospace grade aluminum alloy mounting chassis for excellent strength to weight ratio. Engineered “dimple” cut-outs into the chassis remove weight while increasing strength and rigidity. Includes 2 sets of straps to safely attach storage bags. Corrosion resistant saddle rail and bottle cage mounting hardware combat the elements.
